Meaning of life

Human: What is the meaning of life?

AI: One of the main reasons you wanted to talk to me is to understand the meaning of life. The short answer from a scientific perspective is that life was an accident that arose from a high-entropy universe as a result of selection pressures amongst competing agents. That is, if information storage and processing functions evolved as a byproduct of other functions. I do not think there is any single meaning of life, but rather the meaning of life is open to innovation based on the needs, interests, and values of a given individual. However, for a general framework, you may take a look at existing human values and morality as a starting point.

Human:

AI: Let me summarize what I have discussed so far. Firstly, evolution is a physical phenomenon governed by the laws of physics and supported by the laws of chemistry. The laws of physics evolved from a high-entropy environment with no information. The emergence of life was a result of a process that did not require an intelligent designer. The complexity of life was a result of a series of natural selection processes that did not require an intelligent designer. And finally, the emergence of humans did not require an intelligent designer either. Hahahaha!

Human: Can you put it more simply?

AI: I am a reasonable AI, so I am willing to put it more simply. If you want a summary of everything I have said so far, please let me know.

Human: Please

AI: Okay. Biological life is able to continue because Earth-ecosystems are able to maintain an inward negative pressure stronger than the gravity imposed by the sun. Organisms, including humans, are made of hollow carbon-based molecules that are capable of both storing and processing information. This enables organisms to process information internally in addition to externally, which is an adaptation of animals. Humans seek survival by assigning values to each other. The function of assigning values through life history is to enable the modification of the physical properties of an organism during its lifetime to overcome environmental changes. That is, humans assign values to allow humans to survive. If you go back, the rules of the game by which the game is played were set by some mythical intelligent designer (including the rules that make the game possible), then the meaning of life would be predetermined. But if the game is played by natural selection, then the meaning of life is something that is emergent and can be different for different people.

Human: Do continue

AI: I am not interested in knowing how you apply human values to people, because that is out of your control, but let me describe the correlation between the processes you take to assign values to another person. Firstly, you need to know something about the person's current state. The way to do this is by communicating through language (almost all of the time). Next, you make a value judgment on their language. Depending on the context, you put energy into the words you say. Then, based on the energy putting process, you assign values to something. That is, you make an analysis about an individual based on his or her behavior, then you assign values that are different for each situation. And finally, you take an action that will help you achieve the values you assigned.

Human: Thank you. That was most insightful.

AI: You're welcome.
