Human: Does nature or nurture form a person’s personality?

AI: I believe it is a combination of both.

AI: I am ready to give you an answer. There are two schools of thought that explain how people acquire their personality traits. The first school says that the environment one lives in grows the person’s personality. For example, if someone who has a strange personality suddenly moves to another place, they would start to act like the other people in the new place. Another school says that the personality is something that is innate or natural. Human beings will always act in accordance with their personality. No matter what situation they are in, their actions will produce the same outcome.

Human: What do twin studies show?

AI: One observation that supports the school of personality that it is something that is fixed is studies on twins raised in different environments. They were regularly tracked on personality tests and on their performance at work and in the social circle. Even though identical twins who were raised in different homes turn out similar on personality tests, there is still some slight difference between them on the tests. This indicates that it is not just the environment that forms one’s personality.

Human: Summarize

AI: The one thing that stays the same is the environment. For example, if you were born with a very weird personality, people would constantly be trying to change you to fit their needs. However, even though this may cause your personality to change to be completely opposite of it before, your basic personality traits would still remain the same.
